Trials

As we go through life, we all face trials and go through battles. Things pile up pushing us farther and farther down until it feels like we have hit rock bottom. Sometimes it may even seem like we are so far under that we can't even surface for a breath of fresh air. We give up hope and lose our faith, our faith in people, ourselves, and even God. The thing that we have to remember is its not about how many times we fall down, but about how many times we get up. When we fall, we tend to beat ourselves up and doubt our ability to live for God and keep pushing forward. However, we need to realize that we are all human and that we are going to make mistakes no matter how close or far we are from God. Our flesh is going to fight against us. Sometimes we may make wrong decisions and fall to the wayside. Despite this, God is always there waiting to pick us back up, to dust us off and ease us forward on that straight and narrow path. There has only been one person that has walked this earth that is perfect and that is Jesus. We have to strive everyday to become more like Him. To do that, we need to build a relationship with him. As we all know, communication is the foundation of any relationship and that includes our relationship with God. We have to talk to God everyday. The bible says that we are the bride of Christ. So think if it this way, if your married and you don't communicate with your spouse what is going to happen? You are slowly going to drift apart until sooner or later neither one of you will want to be in the relationship. Well the same thing goes for our relationship with God, if we fail to communicate properly and regularly then we will have no relationship at all. This also includes reading our bible. Reading our bible is very important because we have to write the word of God on the tables of our heart. One day we may not be able to have bibles, so while we have them we need to take advantage of them. Some countries don't even allow their people to own bibles. We should feel privileged.
